My Story
From missile systems to smartphones
I spent most of my career in the Royal Netherlands Navy, working with guided missile systems — radar tracking, signal processing, electronic targeting. Some of the most advanced technology of the 1970s and 80s.
When I retired, the world changed completely. Suddenly everyone had a computer in their pocket. Apps I'd never heard of. Terms like "the cloud" and "two-factor authentication." My grandchildren were video calling from the other side of the world, and I had no idea how they were doing it.
I had a choice: feel left behind, or start learning. I chose to learn.

Most tech tutorials are made by people who grew up with smartphones in their hands. They skip steps. They use jargon. They rush. They assume you already know things — but how would you know, unless someone explained it? I decided to fix that.
What the Navy taught me

Why this channel exists
Nobody should be left behind
I kept seeing the same thing everywhere — friends, neighbours, people at the library — all struggling with technology that should be making their lives easier, not harder. And they felt embarrassed to ask for help.
That broke my heart. Nobody should feel foolish about not understanding something that was never properly explained to them.
So, I built a place where nobody rushes you, nobody uses jargon without explaining it, and nobody makes you feel stupid for asking questions. Every video is patient, clear, and made with you in mind.
